Indigo Forest Wild is a shamanic healing practice based in Prestwich, Greater Manchester, operated by Louise Forrest.
I am committed to protecting your personal information and to being transparent about what data I collect, why I collect it, and how I use it. This policy explains my practices in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

3. What Personal Data I Collect
3.1 Information you give me directly
- Your name, email address and telephone number when you complete my booking request form, or when you contact me by telephone, WhatsApp or in person.
- The session or reading you are requesting, and your preferred date.
- Anything you write in the Your intention field of the booking form. This field is optional. Please share only what you are comfortable sharing at this stage, and note that anything you write about your health, your history or your circumstances is treated as special category data under UK GDPR. See section 6.
- Information you share with me before or during a session, including relevant health and personal history, so that the work is safe and appropriate for you.
- Payment details are not stored by me. Any card payment is handled by a third-party payment provider.
3.2 Information collected automatically
When you visit my website, standard technical information may be collected by my hosting provider, including your IP address, browser type, pages visited, and the time and date of your visit.
3.3 Clients under 18
I do not accept booking requests from anyone under the age of 18 through this website. Where I work with a young person, this is arranged directly, requires the written consent of a parent or guardian, and requires a parent or guardian to be present throughout.
4. How I Use Your Personal Data
- To respond to your enquiry and to arrange, confirm and prepare for your session or reading.
- To send you confirmation of your booking, joining details for remote sessions, and any aftercare information.
- To carry out the work safely and appropriately, including any conversation about your history or circumstances before we begin.
- To keep a record of the work undertaken, for continuity between sessions.
- To comply with any applicable legal obligation.
I will not use your data for any purpose other than those listed above. I will never sell your personal data to anyone.
5. Legal Basis for Processing
- Contract: to arrange and deliver the session or reading you have requested.
- Legitimate interests: for basic business administration, record-keeping, and responding to enquiries.
- Consent: for anything you tell me about your health or personal circumstances, and for any marketing email. You may withdraw consent at any time.
- Legal obligation: where I am required by law to retain records.
6. Special Category (Health) Data
Shamanic work often touches on grief, illness, family history and experiences that are private and difficult. Anything you tell me of that kind is special category data under UK GDPR and is given additional protection.
- I collect it only where you have given your explicit consent, and only to the extent needed to make the work safe and appropriate.
- Session notes are kept as brief paper records, held in a locked cabinet, and are seen by me alone.
- It is never shared for marketing or commercial purposes, and never shared with another practitioner without your permission.
You are never obliged to tell me anything. You may share as little as you wish, and the work can proceed on that basis.
7. Newsletter and Marketing
I will only send you marketing or newsletter emails where you have specifically asked to receive them. I do not add anyone to a mailing list as a result of booking a session or making an enquiry.
You may unsubscribe at any time, either by using the unsubscribe link in any email I send or by contacting me directly. Withdrawing your consent does not affect the lawfulness of anything done beforehand.
8. Who I Share Your Data With
I do not sell or rent your personal data. I share it only in these limited circumstances:
- Service providers: my website host, my booking system and my email provider process data on my behalf in order for the site and booking requests to work. They are required to handle it in accordance with UK GDPR.
- Legal requirements: where I am required to disclose by law, or where I have reason to believe there is a serious risk of harm to you or to another person.
9. How Long I Keep Your Data
I keep personal data only for as long as it is needed:
- Session records are retained for eight years from the date of your last session. This reflects the period during which a claim could be brought, and is the period my insurer expects records to be available.
- Where the client is a young person, records are retained until their 25th birthday, or their 26th birthday if they were 17 when the work ended.
- Booking requests that do not become sessions are deleted from my booking system within twelve months.
- General enquiries where no session followed are kept for no longer than twelve months.
- Marketing email addresses are kept for as long as you remain subscribed, and removed within 28 days of you unsubscribing.
When data is no longer needed, paper records are shredded and electronic records are securely deleted.
10. Your Rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to:
- Access a copy of the personal data I hold about you.
- Rectification of anything inaccurate or incomplete.
- Erasure of your data, in certain circumstances.
- Restriction of how I use your data while a concern is resolved.
- Object to processing based on legitimate interests.
- Data portability, where processing is based on consent and carried out by automated means.
- Withdraw consent at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of anything done beforehand.

I take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data: paper records held in a locked cabinet, password-protected devices and accounts, and reputable third-party providers for the website and booking system.
No transmission over the internet can be guaranteed completely secure. If you have any concern about the security of your data, please contact me.
