After Your Session
Shamanic and energy healing works deeply, often beneath the level of the thinking mind. The hours and days afterwards are part of the healing, a time of settling and integration. These are gentle suggestions to help you land softly and let the work continue to unfold.
In The First Few Hours
- Drink plenty of water. This kind of work can leave you thirsty, and water helps you ground and integrate.
- Go gently. Keep the rest of your day as quiet and unhurried as you can, rather than rushing straight back into busyness.
- Find somewhere calm to be, ideally somewhere quiet where you can simply rest and process.
Be Kind To Yourself
- You may feel more open or sensitive than usual for a little while, from a few hours to a few days. This is completely normal.
- Keep anything demanding, big decisions, difficult conversations, intense exertion, for another day where you can. Try not to throw yourself straight back in at the deep end.
- It is best to avoid alcohol for the rest of the day, so the work can settle cleanly.
Letting The Work Settle
- Emotions, memories, vivid dreams or tiredness may surface over the following days. This is the healing continuing to move through you. Let it, without forcing anything.
- Gentle grounding helps: time in nature, a slow walk, a warm bath, warm food, rest and warmth.
- If it helps, note down anything that comes up, images, feelings, dreams. It can be revealing to look back on.
Nourish And Rest
- Eat something warm and nourishing when you are ready.
- Rest as much as you need. Tiredness afterwards is common, and is simply your body integrating.
Staying In Touch
You are always welcome to be in touch if something comes up, or if you would simply like to talk it through. You can return to the booking section on the home page at any time.
Shamanic healing is offered as a complement to medical care, not a replacement for it. If you feel unwell, or you are struggling and need support, please contact your GP or, in an emergency, the emergency services.
